Majority of U.S. Homeowners Believe Now is a Good Time to Renovate, Houzz Survery Finds
Houzz, which bills itself as “the leading online platform for home remodeling and design”, has released the results of its recent survey on home renovation. As we’ve all been hearing, the housing market is gaining momentum at a healthy pace as the economy strengthens and a majority of homeowners now feel ready to tackle home improvements they may have been putting off during the recession.
Some interesting findings:
- Although people spend more time in their living rooms, they want to invest more in remodeling bathrooms.
- Over the last five years, nearly four in ten home improvement dollars have gone into kitchens.
- When it comes to hiring a professional for their project, 67 percent of homeowners surveyed rated a “personality I can work with” as a 5 (very important) on a 5-point scale.
- 34 percent of U.S. homeowners cited making their home more energy efficient as a key driver for completing their most recent project.Read the press release or download the entire report for more details.
